Producing the perfect copy = enhanced sales and search engine results!
The text, or copy, on your website has two functions: it has to provide your prospective customers with plenty of insight into your products and services, thus converting their visit to a sale, as well as enhancing your search engine ranking. And, as it is generally accepted that each page should be about 250 to 300 words in length, this is a more difficult balance to achieve than one thinks.
Search engines look for pages that are relevant to a specific search phrase, or keyword. As they are not humans and do not read a page and make a judgment about its relevance to a particular search request, search engines process words and determine the ranking of a website according to how often the search phrase appears on the page, or the keyword density. In no more than 300 words then, your copy needs to contain enough information to be attractive to your potential customer, but it has to have a good keyword density to ensure it is ranked highly for search engine traffic.
